Release Your Immunity to Change
Lisa Laskow Lahey, EdD, is best known for her breakthrough discovery, along with her long-term collaborator Robert Kegan, of the “immunity to change,” a dynamic which impedes personal and organizational transformation. Her work helps people to close the gap between their good intentions and behaviors. Lahey has personally helped thousands of individuals and groups to unpack and understand these insights, and to ultimately break free of unproductive habits to achieve personal and professional goals. This work is used worldwide by executives, senior teams, and individuals in business, governmental, and educational organizations.
She is cofounder of Minds At Work, an organization which focuses on coaching and teaching the Immunity to Change Model to individuals, organizations and management consultants, and is on the faculty of the Harvard University Graduate School of Education.
A world-renowned author on adult education, culture, and development, Lahey has coauthored several books, most recently An Everyone Culture. Her successful research partnership with Kegan also has produced foundational books on adult development including Immunity to Change: How to Overcome It and Unlock the Potential in Yourself and Your Organization and How the Way We Talk Can Change the Way We Work, among others. She also is the coauthor of Change Leadership: A Practical Guide for Transforming Our Schools.
Lahey is an inspirational speaker whose passion for adult education, women’s development, diversity and inclusion, and care for the aged have earned her special attention from the healthcare, nonprofit, and education sectors. Lahey has earned numerous awards, particularly Boston University’s Gislason Prize for contributions to organizational leadership. She is the former associate director of Harvard’s Change Leadership Group, a national project funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to develop greater internal capacity for leading organizational improvements in US public school districts.
